Musings... Dreams

time and time again i tell myself i will start writing. but between work, the boys and home i barely have time to sleep how much less write. but today, i am writing... nice yeah?
I find myself wondering and imagining the various things a woman can do and invest in to get her busy, secure and independent. but in this part of the world they are all so far fetched,. but then lets not got to the imaginary wall of limitation (excuses) and first look at the beautiful, crystal clear and blue ocean of possibilities.

Let me ask you this, What's your dream?
This makes me think of the old movie pretty woman... at the beginning, a man passing in the background of that scene kept asking people randomly, like a lone voice in the desert... "This is Hollywood, everybody has a dream, what's your dream, what's your dream....?

Anyone who has watched the movie will see a far fetched dream come true... quite unrealistic yes? but then that the whole essence of having a dream! have you ever said something to someone about your plans and they tell you that's in your dreams? now that's he stuff i am talking about,

It has to be big, bigger than what you can do by yourself, bugger than the next meal and the next paycheck! That's why it is a dream. dreams are not supposed to be safe, no you dream should be the type that makes people tell you, "Oh, that doesn't happen in real life". But guess what, the bigger the dream, the bigger the possibilities. unfortunately, a trend i have noticed is that, younger people have bigger, more vibrant and detailed, out of this world dream. but the older we get, the more we allow the experiences and harsh realities of this dim our lights and curtail our imaginations. It show us broken dreams, realities of how thing s may not work because on the average it just doesn't work out quite the way we planned it. To be honest that's quite true... things never work out exactly as we planned.

does this tell you something? you will feel like quitting.
actually you will let go at some point and ask yourself what the point is to all the trouble.
When you get to that point, think and remember why you started in  the first place. there is an old saying that "tough times never last but tough people do." so my take is at that point, just toughen up!!!

Now i said earlier you should try and remember why you started on the course of your dream, but tell you what, sometimes things are just so muddled up and dark that you cant seem to see beyond your present circumstances. and that brings me to my next point.

Write!! you can never get it wrong by writing your dreams down... its not cast in stone! you can adjust and tweak to perfection.... but don't leave it in  your head.. there is only so much the  human mind can handle or don't you agree? Let's put it to test, tell me the names of at least 10 of your course-mates in parts 1, 2 and 3 of your university days.... even the ones you 'rolled with' and studied with seem to leave your mind after a while. just a fact of life.

so dream, write, dream some more and write even more!! The dream is for an appointed time (Habakkuk 2:3). sometimes you are not the one meant to fulfill that dream all by yourself. anyone who reads what you write may happen to be a kindred spirit and may just start to run with it.
It is also for you... dark days when you need to recharge, redirect of refocus will come.

So, if anything, i hope i have stirred something in you today. something to make you give that fleeting thought a fighting chance to develop and be something great. inform and educate yourself in your area of interest( thanks to google), that way you can dream big, dream right and be positioned with the right metal attitude to see your dreams come true.
